The Lynx hosted the Boys Ranch Roughriders Friday night for Homecoming. The Lynx did not disappoint the huge crowd by defeating the Roughriders. The ground game was used mostly by both teams. The Lynx scored its first touchdown on a fourth and goal one yard run by Cameron Meddock to take a 7-0 lead. The Roughriders seemed to be a ground and pound running team but that played right into the hands of the Lynx stiff defense. The Roughriders had two fast and hard running ball carriers that looked like they could break any play for big yards. The Lynx held the Roughriders in check most of the night. The Lynx were able to score again on another one yard run by Justin Rindlesbacher to take a 14-0 lead. The first series of the second half, the Roughriders found better running lanes and moved the ball deep into Lynx territory and were able to punch it in to close the gap to 14-7. However, the Lynx defense was up for the challenge and stiffened and did not allow the Roughriders to score again. The Lynx ran the ball effectively all night using several different ball carriers. Meddock, Rindlesbacher, Jace Lang Swan and Blayne Schroeder took turns dicing up the Roughrider defense to control the ball and hold off the Roughriders to make Homecoming 2009 a success. The Final Lynx 14, Roughriders 7. Thanks to all the Lynx fans that came out and supported the Lynx. It was one of the biggest crowds in several years and the Lynx football team pleased the crowd with a win! The team played with Lynx pride and effort showing the home crowd their appreciation for their attendance. The Lynx host the Tulia Hornets this week at Lynx stadium, 7:30 kick-off. Everyone come out again and support the LYNX!
